Valve announced last night that their wildly anticipated cooperative multiplayer game Left 4 Dead will not include a server browser, instead they will be using console like "match making" facility.

It is our belief at this time, that this ill considered decision will prevent anyone from developing communities which are centered around the ability choose which server you join.

Given this action by Valve we hope you both understand and support our decision to not support Left 4 Dead servers, we simply can't stand by and let action by any developer marginalise the community that has been the main cause for their success.

We have made our feelings know about this on the Valve's public list.


Update: It seems Valve may well have heard all out objections to the removal of the server browser, so all may not be lost. Only time will tell for sure but lets hope so!
